Accessible Ocean Tourism: Scaling Impact Through Global Training

As the world embraces more inclusive travel, our business is committed to making ocean tourism accessible for everyone — and we’re doing it through global training that strengthens conservation and inclusion hand in hand.

Our accessible ocean tourism programs are rooted in rigorous, globally recognized training frameworks aligned with sustainability standards such as the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). We have conducted international capacity-building workshops modeled on courses like the GSTC Accessible & Inclusive Travel course, empowering tourism professionals to better serve travelers with different access needs.

On-the-ground, we partner with ocean resorts and dive centers and NGOs that specialize in adaptive ocean recreation — similar to accessible scuba initiatives for scuba experts as well as for scuba divers who are disabled. For example in Sri Lanka, where instructors received certification to teach people with disabilities. These efforts helped create truly barrier-free ocean experiences, from adapted gear to specially trained guides who are able to assist communities during disasters.

Beyond accessibility, our work also emphasizes ocean literacy. We train local and global teams on marine conservation, inclusive tourism principles, and universal design. This not only expands the reach of ocean tourism to a broader audience, but also strengthens stewardship of marine ecosystems.

By combining accessible tourism with conservation education, our business thrives on contributing to a global movement — where empowerment, inclusion, and environmental protection go hand in hand.
